The Six Nations Skatepark, located in Ohsweken, Ontario, is a powerful testament to community-led development and cultural pride. This project was brought to life through the dedicated efforts of the Six Nations Skatepark Committee and Council, who successfully fundraised the entire cash value of the project. This massive local support was further leveraged through in-kind donations of materials and equipment, allowing New Line Skateparks to design and build an expanded facility that includes significant artistic touches, such as a detailed Wampum Belt integration and custom signage and shade structures conceived by the local committee.
The park’s unique pie-shaped footprint was engineered to work in harmony with the site’s natural topography, gradually widening as riders move away from the entrance. The layout begins with a versatile starting and gathering area featuring gaps, ledges, and rails that can be hit in either direction. The flow continues into a middle section packed with a flat rail, slappy bank, manual pad, and a granite ledge, all complemented by various A-frame wedge ramps. The park concludes at its widest point with a high-elevation transition ramp built into the natural slope, creating a high-performance environment that celebrates both the sport and the heritage of the Six Nations community.
