ABOUT SKATEPARK

Murnau am Staffelsee skatepark

The inclusive skatepark in Murnau am Staffelsee was officially opened on September 14, 2024. It is located south of the train station and was built using in-situ concrete, making it fully accessible for WCMX athletes in wheelchairs.

The project was initiated by children and teenagers, with Moritz Vogelsang as the main driving force, supported by the Children and Youth Representation of the Municipality of Murnau. Funding came from urban development grants, a quick decision by the municipal council, and support from the municipal construction office.

The total cost of the skatepark was around €620,000, with the municipality’s contribution being approximately €85,600, or 13.8% of the total cost, thanks to special funding and a generous donation. The skatepark includes barrier-free rest areas and is designed for skaters, WCMX riders, scooter riders, and BMX riders. Its central location near the train station makes it easily accessible and a great meeting place for sports enthusiasts.
