ABOUT SKATEPARK

Monkton Heathfield pumtprack

Monkton Heathfield Pumptrack (also known as the Hyde Park Pump Track) is located at Hyde Park Sports Ground near Newlands Road and the Eastern Relief Road in Monkton Heathfield, Taunton, TA3 5JZ, United Kingdom. Situated on the outskirts of Taunton in the parish of West Monkton, the facility sits adjacent to local housing developments and shared sports grounds. The track is free to access and open to the public year-round.

The pumptrack forms part of the broader Hyde Park Sports Ground complex, which is developed to serve local community sports clubs and residents. The surrounding grounds feature dedicated facilities used by West Monkton Cricket Club and Taunton Rugby Club, including pitch areas, cricket nets, and floodlighting. The broader site also includes a designated dog-walking area, sports pavilion project, and on-site car parking currently being expanded to accommodate visitors and local teams.

The pumptrack was developed by West Monkton Parish Council as part of a long-term initiative to deliver comprehensive sports and youth recreation facilities in the Monkton Heathfield and Bathpool expansion areas. Built by trail constructors Forte Trailscapes and certified for safety by RoSPA, the track officially opened to the public in May 2026. Managed under the parish council's sports pitch committee, the venue provides a safe, modern outdoor space for local cyclists, BMX riders, and scooter enthusiasts.

This pump track was built in May 2026 and has a great quality surface suitable for all wheels. The course is fast and navigable with some fun challenging banks for skateboarders. It's pretty big too for a small out of town site. The site is quite exposed to the elements, but there is some seating. There are no facilities here or close. There is an Aldi a few minutes drive away. Parking is also not great, cars can be parked on the housing estate opposite side of the roundabout. So course great. Not so much the rest. The parish council state it was always meant for local folk - but well worth a visit
