Right in the heart of Millworks Commons—a vibrant live/work/play hub—sits an innovative skate spot that blends seamlessly into its shared recreational surroundings. Tucked between a basketball court and walking paths, the design brings skaters into a collaborative community space, making it more than just a place to ride.
The spot centers around three key features: a volcano spine, a rail and ledge combo, and a long wall feature packed with hips, banks, a manual pad, and a small quarter—each one built for flow and creativity in a compact footprint.
Hunger Skateparks loves designing smaller-scale spots that still pack a punch, and this project was a perfect example. They teamed up with the Nebraska Skateparks Council, whose passion extends beyond this build to their support of the local DIY skate scene. As part of this collaboration, Hunger skateparks also had the chance to help upgrade the nearby DIY space with five substantial new features, giving back to the community that’s been putting in the work.
