Built by Velosolutions in 2023, Loureira Pumptrack is a 127-metre asphalt pumptrack located in the Parque de Merendas do Vale Mourão in Loureira, near Leiria. The track features a flowing sequence of rollers, berms and jumps, allowing riders to maintain speed through pumping rather than relying on pedalling or pushing.
The pumptrack was created through a community-led project supported by the União das Freguesias de Santa Catarina da Serra e Chainça and the Municipality of Leiria, which funded around 85% of the construction. The project transformed an underused recreational area into a destination for BMX, mountain biking, skateboarding, scooters and inline skating.
Designed by Velosolutions, the track was built to accommodate everyone from young beginners to high-level riders. Its quality was recognised when Loureira hosted the Portuguese qualifier for the UCI Pumptrack World Championships in July 2023, bringing international-level riders to the village.
The pumptrack forms part of a larger two-hectare leisure area with a picnic area, children's playground, lake, outdoor fitness equipment, 1.4 km maintenance circuit and mini-golf, making it a particularly complete community recreation spot.
