L'Escala Skatepark is a modern concrete skatepark located in Parc dels Recs at the southern entrance of L'Escala, on the Costa Brava in Girona, Catalonia. Built in 2023 for the Ajuntament de L'Escala, the 600 m² park was designed by Javier Labad and constructed by Vulcano Skateparks.
The park was created to replace a much smaller and outdated skate facility that had previously occupied the car park beside the municipal swimming pool. The new location at Parc dels Recs provides a dedicated space for skateboarding and other wheeled sports within a newly developed public area.
The street-oriented concrete layout combines ramps, banks, bowls, rails and other obstacles, offering different lines and possibilities for both beginners and experienced riders. During construction, local skaters were consulted and members of the emerging local skate association suggested modifications to the project, helping adapt the final design to the needs of the local community.
Construction began in June 2023 and the completed skatepark opened to the public later that year. With its modern design and location close to the Mediterranean coast, the park has become a new meeting point for L'Escala's skateboarding community and visitors to the Costa Brava.
