Leiston Skatepark is a modern concrete skatepark located in Victory Road Park on Park Hill in Leiston, Suffolk. The park was developed as an extension and refurbishment of the existing skatepark, rather than a complete replacement, with Betongpark working alongside the local riding community to give the worn-out facility a new lease of life.
The redevelopment combines a new open bowl and street section with the refurbished original concrete. The bowl features a distinctive tombstone extension and roll-in/roll-out sections, while the street section includes a stair set, hubba and double-height ledge. The layout creates a mixture of flowing transition and street lines within a relatively compact footprint.
Rather than removing the existing park, Betongpark substantially refurbished the old concrete surface, replacing unsafe sections and incorporating new features into what was already there. An existing bank was also retrofitted into a slappy kerb, adding another street-oriented element to the layout.
The skatepark is part of Victory Road Park, a wider recreational area managed by Leiston Town Council. The park also includes a children's playground, outdoor gym, boules pitch and open green space.
