The Leigh Pump Track, situated within the grounds of Leigh School on Hauraki Road, Leigh, New Zealand, is a community-driven project that provides a dynamic space for riders of all ages and skill levels. Constructed by Velosolutions, a renowned company specializing in pump track design, the track covers an area of approximately 360 square meters with a track length of 39 meters. Its triangular shape and asphalt surface offer multiple lines and features, ensuring an engaging experience for users.
The initiative for the pump track was led by Leigh School principal Kerrin Jamieson, inspired by a similar facility at Kerikeri Primary School. The project, costing just over $58,000, was funded through the School Improvement Package and completed in March 2022. An official opening event, "Pumporama 22," was held on November 27, 2022, featuring skate and bike competitions, live music, and community activities aimed at raising funds for new school sports uniforms.
