Integrated naturally into the active courtyard of the Jätkäsaari School while remaining fully open for public enjoyment, the Jätkäsaari Skatepark is an expansive 1,335-square-meter street plaza facility in Helsinki. Designed by Janne Saario in collaboration with the Finnish Skateboarding Association and constructed by Concreteproof in 2019 for Unisport Infra Oy and the City of Helsinki, the park delivers a spacious, street-focused environment built for seamless flow.
The versatile layout incorporates a wide variety of street-style features alongside a striking central ramp structure, defined by organic, fluid curves inspired by the natural movement of water. Combining street plaza aesthetics with dynamic transition forms, the park stands out as a flagship recreational destination for the local community.
