Águilas Skatepark is a compact concrete skatepark located beside the Hermanos Buitrago football stadium in Águilas, Murcia. The park was constructed by CopinRamps and completed in January 2021 as part of the Águilas Sostenible urban development programme. Designed for skateboarders, BMX riders and roller sports, the park combines a small plaza-style layout with flowing transition elements. The polished concrete surface incorporates quarters, banks and inclined planes with gentle radii, together with two grind boxes and two slide rails for street-style tricks. A vertical wall provides an additional challenge for more experienced riders.
The approximately 400 m² site was carefully divided into active skating zones and safer areas for resting and watching, making efficient use of the relatively compact footprint. The bowl sits at ground level and rises gradually towards the centre, with curved and flat ramps around its perimeter at different heights. The project was created specifically to address the demand from Águilas' younger population for a dedicated urban-sports facility. It was funded through the municipality's Águilas Sostenible programme, with 80% of the investment supported by FEDER funds.
In 2021, the municipality gave the facility the official name Skatepark Ignacio Echeverría – El Héroe del Monopatín, making the park a tribute to the Spanish skateboarder and humanitarian remembered for his actions during the 2017 London attack.
