ABOUT SKATEPARK

Gravesend skatepark

Gravesend Skatepark is a 600 m² concrete skatepark located in the Riverside Leisure Area on Ordnance Road in Gravesend, Kent. The park was opened in 2012 and was designed and built by Freestyle skateparks. The site was previously occupied by Gravesend's outdoor swimming pool, which had closed in the late 1980s.

The park combines an open bowl with a street section, creating a compact but varied layout. Features include quarterpipes, banks, ledges, stairs, a mini ramp and an open bowl, allowing riders to move between transition and street-style lines.

The project followed a campaign by local skateboarders, who worked with Kent County Council youth workers and Gravesham Borough Council to establish a dedicated skatepark in the town centre. The former swimming-pool site on Ordnance Road was selected as the location, with planning permission granted in 2010.
