Trucks and Fins is a huge present to the whole skate community - not just for the skating people, but also for shops, builders and schools. Super easy to use and can't believe how complete it is.

Tucked into the heart of the Rocky Mountains inside the Mount 7 Rec-Plex block, the Golden Skatepark—formally listed as the Golden Freeride Park—is a world-class mountain session spot. The facility represents a massive victory for grassroots community advocacy. While the town originally possessed a small concrete pad, the local scene quickly outgrew it. Championed by dedicated local riders, a major municipal push completely transformed the site between 2022 and 2023, expanding the footprint into an integrated, high-performance action sports destination.
The modern evolution of the park was designed and constructed between 2022 and 2023 by Transition Construction. Their specialized team of skatepark builders was brought in to completely reinvent the space, overcoming the rugged mountain climate constraints to deliver a flawless concrete playground. Transition Construction handled both the structural architecture and the physical concrete placement, ensuring the angles, flow, and high-density finish met professional standards. Because their crew physically shaped and poured every section, the park is celebrated as a major showcase piece within their Western Canadian portfolio.
The resulting layout is a comprehensive, hybrid playground designed with an absolute focus on user flow and technical progression. The heart of the design is a deeply requested, ultra-smooth concrete bowl complex complete with pool-style transitions for high-speed carving. Wrapped tightly around the transition features is a massive street plaza and flatground progression zone. The space cleverly integrates a full spectrum of street obstacles, including crisp down-ledges, rails, flat banks, a spine, and stairs, ensuring that street enthusiasts and transition riders can seamlessly share the space.
The Golden Skatepark is an outdoor, public concrete facility that is entirely free to ride. The park sits directly adjacent to a paved pump track and an outdoor multi-sport arena. It functions as a daytime facility without dedicated night lighting and is located at 9 Street South (inside the Mount 7 Rec-Plex Block) in Golden, British Columbia.
TrucksandFins Tip: Because the park sits in a stunning mountain valley surrounded by alpine peaks, it is easily one of the most scenic places to shoot skate photography in the Kootenays. The park is highly family-friendly and serves as a perfect road-trip pit stop, featuring nearby vehicle parking, open green spaces, and easy access to downtown Golden’s local shops and eateries.
