Trucks and Fins is a huge present to the whole skate community - not just for the skating people, but also for shops, builders and schools. Super easy to use and can't believe how complete it is.

Beautifully integrated into the Creston & District Community Complex, the Creston Skatepark is a standout modern wheel destination in the Kootenay region. Replacing older, outdated recreational infrastructure, this facility was engineered to serve as a high-performance athletic and social hub for local and traveling riders. It is strategically positioned alongside the town’s broader recreational ecosystem, offering immediate proximity to the indoor arena, curling rinks, and community swimming pool.
The architectural history of the facility is completely transparent and documented. The park's design was finalized through a highly collaborative process between New Line Skateparks, North America's longest-running action sports architecture firm, and VDZ Landscape Design (van der Zalm + associates). To ensure the highly technical curves and custom features stayed true to the blueprints, the physical concrete pouring, shaping, and construction administration were executed directly by New Line Skateparks, officially completing the build for its grand opening in 2020.
The layout is a highly creative hybrid setup that heavily incorporates the distinct natural, rustic aesthetic of the surrounding Kootenay mountain landscape. The centerpiece of the transition section is a beautifully multi-tiered concrete bowl featuring three distinct sections of varying depths, complete with multiple hips, bowled corners, an extension, and an escalating pocket for high-speed carving lines. Transitioning outward from the bowl complex is a highly technical, linear street section. The street line is meticulously balanced with a balanced mix of modern obstacles, including flatbars, traditional flat ledges, drops, an A-frame wedge with an integrated ledge, manual pads, and a crisp hubba ledge.
Creston Skatepark is an outdoor, public concrete facility that is 100% free to ride. The park operates as a daytime facility without dedicated sports floodlights and is located at the Creston & District Community Complex at 308 20 Avenue North, Creston, British Columbia.
TrucksandFins Tip: The design team went out of their way to make this park unique by integrating custom, skateable faux rock walls and banks that mimic the rocky BC terrain. Because it shares a footprint with the main community complex, visiting skaters have seamless access to rare perks, including expansive paved vehicle parking, manicured green spaces, and indoor public washrooms during regular facility operating hours.
