Clacton Trax Skatepark is a modern concrete skatepark located beside Clacton Leisure Centre on Vista Road, close to the Essex coast. The park was completely refurbished by Betongpark and reopened to the public in August 2023, replacing the previous facility that had been closed since 2019 following flooding damage. The £255,000 redevelopment was funded by Tendring District Council, which awarded the construction contract to Betongpark for £254,620. Local skatepark users were directly involved in developing the specification, with the community helping influence the final design.
Betongpark created a large hybrid skatepark combining transition and street elements. The layout includes a bowled mini ramp with a hard-edge extension, connected to the street section by a substantial step-up. The street area features a large pyramid hip, hubbas and a down rail, while a distinctive textured wallride provides another standout feature. The pyramid hip pays homage to a much-loved feature from the original Clacton skatepark.
The finished facility is designed for skateboarding, BMX, inline skating, scootering and WCMX, and is free to use. Tendring Leisure describes it as a facility suitable for all skill levels. The skatepark is also monitored by CCTV and has lighting, with the lights automatically switching off at 9:30 pm.
