Trucks and Fins is a huge present to the whole skate community - not just for the skating people, but also for shops, builders and schools. Super easy to use and can't believe how complete it is.

Located in the vibrant Southfields community of Caledon, the Southfields Skatepark—situated on the prominent green space right next to the Southfields Community Centre—is a beautifully integrated addition to Peel Region's action sports network. Following an extensive community survey and a public design open house in early 2024, the town funded this custom-built facility to fulfill a growing demand for localized youth wheel infrastructure. It serves as a modern, multi-generational athletic asset nestled seamlessly into the city's newest recreational campus.
The architectural layout and realization of the park represent a highly successful municipal-builder partnership. The conceptual blueprints and technical layout were drafted directly by the Town of Caledon’s Community Services division, under the direction of Landscape Architect Patrick Rees. Once the public-vetted layout was finalized, the town awarded Contract No. 2023-112 to Transition Construction Inc., who handled the specialized earthwork, drainage engineering, and precision hand-shaping of the concrete. Groundbreaking commenced on July 9, 2024, with the master concrete builders wrapping up the flawless, high-density finish in September 2024.
The resulting footprint is a highly technical 7,500-square-foot hybrid plaza explicitly mapped out to prioritize both progression and continuous flow. The focal point of the transition section is a multi-depth bowl configuration featuring a 4-foot mini-ramp section that steps down into a deeper 6-foot bowl pocket, joined by a smooth spine transfer for aggressive aerial lines. Branching out seamlessly from the bowl deck is a heavily packed street plaza. Street skaters can session an array of obstacles, including a custom Pier Seven-inspired block, flat banks, a "slappy" curb, curved ledges, flat bars, and a classic textured brick hip that adds a great technical pop to the street run.
Southfields Skatepark is an outdoor, public concrete park that is completely free to ride. Thanks to the balanced layout designed by the town and poured by Transition Construction, the perimeter is exceptionally inclusive for beginners on scooters, skateboards, and BMX bikes, while the 6-foot bowl and complex transfers offer massive challenges for expert riders. The park operates under the community centre's general hours and is located at 225 Dougall Avenue, Caledon, Ontario.
TrucksandFins Tip: Being located on the direct property of the Southfields Community Centre makes this one of the most amenity-rich parks in the area; visiting riders have immediate access to expansive paved vehicle parking, manicured green spaces, and fully serviced indoor public washroom facilities right inside the community centre doors.
