Trucks and Fins is a huge present to the whole skate community - not just for the skating people, but also for shops, builders and schools. Super easy to use and can't believe how complete it is.

VelosolutionsUK were commissioned to design and build a floodlit pumptrack and learn-to-ride area, creating a space that works for all abilities. Alongside the track, the project delivered a secure bike store, bike racks, and a hub seating area, turning the site into a true community cycling destination. A collaboration with a specialist paint contractor to refurbish the existing MUGA tied the whole space together into something cohesive and visually striking.
The site came with its challenges. Bordered by football pitches and the MUGA, safety buffers ate into the available footprint from the start. But constraints have a way of driving creativity — and that's exactly what happened here. Rather than limiting the design, the tight boundaries encouraged a more inventive approach: a long jump rhythm straight with a split line, and berms that weave into the pockets of available space to create dynamic cornering features. The result is a 150m track with a 30m split line, giving riders a choice of routes and a natural path for progression — all within a compact footprint.
Drainage was engineered to connect into the park's existing surface water system, and a partnership with RM Services delivered floodlighting designed for year-round use. Mindful of the local ecology, the lighting specification and bulb temperature were selected to be bat-friendly, in line with the client's ecological survey.
The final facility is functional, fun, and firmly embedded in its surroundings — a space that supports skill development and brings the community together.
