26740 Pine Ave, Bonita Springs, Florida 34135, United States of America
The Bonita Springs Skate Park, located at the Recreation Center Complex on Pine Avenue, stands as a resilient and vibrant rebirth of a cherished community space. After the original facility suffered irreparable damage from Hurricane Irma, the project became a mission for a unified community of skaters and the City of Bonita Springs. This 15,000-square-foot facility was designed and built by New Line Skateparks, a world leader in concrete skatepark environments. The project was fueled by relentless local advocacy, the support of local businesses like The Glassperts, and a crucial $280,000 grant from the Florida Recreation Development Assistance Program (FRDAP) in 2021, which helped bring this modernized vision to life.
The park is a masterclass in contemporary skate architecture, offering a well-balanced mix of terrain that caters to every style of wheeled user. The layout features a high-performance flow bowl, a technical street section, and an integrated pump track, all connected by intuitive transitions that reflect the energetic culture of the Bonita Springs community. Recognizing the Florida climate, the design prioritizes rider and spectator comfort with dedicated seating areas and large shade structures. By blending high-level functionality with an inclusive atmosphere, the Bonita Springs Skate Park has reclaimed its status as a premier gathering place, fostering active lifestyles and creativity for the next generation of riders.
