Blauwe Golven skatepark is a unique concrete skatepark in the centre of Arnhem, built beneath the Nelson Mandela Bridge alongside the Rhine. The partially covered location makes the park particularly interesting in wet weather and integrates skateboarding into the unusual landscape of the Blauwe Golven area.
The park was designed and built by Mud Crew, in collaboration with Skate For Coen, Public Skateshop and the Municipality of Arnhem. The project presented considerable technical challenges because the skatepark is located within a water-retaining dike structure, making it one of the more unusual locations for a skatepark in the Netherlands.
The layout combines a bowl, flowing banks, deep sections and street obstacles, making use of the long space beneath the bridge. The organic design creates flowing lines while connecting different elevations and skating styles. The park officially opened on 29 June 2025, giving Arnhem its first proper full-size skatepark.
