Barnsley Skatepark is a new concrete skatepark forming part of the Barnsley Youth Activity Park on Schwäbisch Gmünd Way, next to the Base71 Youth Zone. The wider activity park includes a skatepark, pump track, beginner-friendly bike track, parkour area and active-travel routes. It was developed with input from local children and young people and supported by the Levelling Up Fund and Sport England. The skatepark features multiple linked bowl and transition areas with connecting lines, creating a layout suitable for different abilities. Planning documentation specifically identifies the skatepark and pump track as part of the new activity park.
The project was designed by Bendcrete, with Barnsley Council specifically thanking Bendcrete for designing the skatepark. The wider construction was delivered by Triton Construction, while Bendcrete was responsible for the specialist skatepark design. The skatepark opened in March 2026.
