ABOUT SKATEPARK

Barking skatepark RIP

Barking Skate Park, formerly located at 142 Lodge Avenue, Dagenham, RM8 2JR, United Kingdom, was an indoor wheeled-sports venue housed within the Barking Sporthouse and Gym inside Mayesbrook Park, just off the A13 bypass. Operated by the charitable leisure trust GLL under its Better brand, this climate-controlled facility was originally developed by the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham as part of a major multi-million-pound leisure investment aimed at giving local youth a safe, year-round alternative to street riding. It operated on a scheduled, paid session booking system and formed part of a massive complex featuring a 200-station gym, sports hall, trampoline park, soft play area, outdoor basketball court, café, spectator viewing mezzanine, and full changing amenities within the green surroundings of Mayesbrook Park. The skatepark has since permanently closed and is being replaced by indoor padel courts.
