Built by local skaters from 2023 onwards, Angelina DIY is a raw grassroots skate spot at Cais da Viscondessa in Santos, between the railway station and the Tagus River. The project grew from a desire among local skaters to create an accessible place to skate in central Lisbon rather than having to travel to the city's outskirts.
The DIY has developed progressively on the riverside concrete slab, with banks, ledges, curbs, a wallride, manual pads, flat rails and quarter pipes creating an evolving mix of street and transition obstacles. Because the park is built and maintained by the community, its layout continues to change as new obstacles are added and others are repaired or replaced.
Its location directly beside the Tagus gives Angelina a particularly distinctive atmosphere, with the river, sunset views and central Lisbon setting becoming part of the experience. The spot has also become an important meeting point for the local skate scene, hosting sessions, events and gatherings. It was used as the final stop of the Vans Shop Riot Portugal 2024.
