Located in Parque Urbano Dr. Luís César Pereira, this concrete skatepark is a modern municipal facility serving the skateboarding community of Vila Franca de Xira. The compact layout focuses on street skating, with quarters, banks, ledges, a manual pad, flat rail and handrail arranged to provide several connected lines.
The current skatepark was built in 2019 as part of the redevelopment of the urban park. Municipal records document the construction of the Skate Parque de Vila Franca de Xira between February and March 2019, while the municipality's asset records place the completion/acquisition of the facility in June 2019. The construction contractor was Fernando L. Gaspar – Sinalização e Equipamentos Rodoviários, S.A.
The park was not Vila Franca de Xira's first skate facility. Municipal documentation from 2014 already lists an older Skate Park de Vila Franca de Xira on Rua 16 de Março. The current park therefore represents a new generation of facilities replacing or superseding an earlier local skatepark.
The design is attributed to SkateLopez, with the finished park providing a straightforward combination of transition and street obstacles. Lighting also allows the facility to be used after dark, making it a practical local spot rather than simply a daytime recreational feature.
