The Gävle Strand Plaza, located in Gävle, Sweden, is a sophisticated urban facility and the second Swedish project designed by New Line Skateparks. Completed in early fall 2008 in partnership with the construction firm NCC, this park is widely considered a benchmark for modern, integrated skate architecture.
The facility features nearly 11,000 square feet of unique, sculptural plaza terrain that blends high-performance riding surfaces with public art. Unlike traditional "contained" parks, the Gävle Strand Plaza is designed as a central social hub, featuring integrated lighting for evening sessions and detailed concrete textures that elevate the aesthetic of the waterfront district. By combining technical street obstacles with a sleek, modern design language, the plaza serves as both a premier destination for the Swedish skate community and a high-visibility landmark for the city.
