Located within Stowmarket Recreation Ground on Finborough Road, this all-concrete skatepark was designed and built by Gravity Skateparks and opened in 2011. The official opening jam took place on 31 May 2011, with a Vans team appearance, skate jams and live music.
The park is primarily focused on transition skating, starting with a hipped, open-sided speed bowl that flows into the main section. The surrounding bowl edges vary in height and include an old-school pool extension. The central area features a pyramid with rail, while a flat bank incorporates a hubba, rail and euro gap, leading towards the return ramp.
The skatepark replaced an earlier collection of metal ramps that had been used in Stowmarket for many years. Local skaters were already using a metal mini ramp, spine and flat bar around the early 2000s before the concrete park was developed.
The Recreation Ground itself has a much longer history: it was opened in 1920 as a war memorial recreation ground and remains an important public park in the town.
