Arinaga skatepark is a large concrete park designed by the Spanish architect Daniel Yábar. Arinaga is a coastal neighborhood within the municipality of Agüimes, located on the island of Gran Canaria. It is one of the eight population centers that form the municipality. The proposed site for the new skatepark is situated in this vibrant area. Thanks to its coastal location, Arinaga is well known for water sports such as surfing and windsurfing. Nearby lies Playa de Vargas, a renowned spot that hosts a Professional Windsurfers Association (PWA) World Championship event. This prestigious competition attracts the world’s top windsurfers and has helped establish Gran Canaria as a leading international destination for wind sports.
