The Santa Rosa Beach Skatepark, located within Helen McCall Park in Florida, is a 9,000-square-foot facility that serves as a premier action sports destination for the Emerald Coast. This project was designed by New Line Skateparks and built by Spohn Ranch Skateparks, opening in 2020 after years of dedicated advocacy from the Walton Skate Society. The design team focused on creating a "hybrid" layout that captures the coastal spirit of the region, ensuring the park provides a high-performance experience for both the local surf-skate community and visiting tourists.
The park is characterized by a "flow" aesthetic, where rolling concrete transitions and organic shapes allow riders to maintain speed throughout the entire footprint. The facility features a versatile flow bowl with varying depths and authentic pool coping, alongside a technical street plaza equipped with precision-engineered hubba ledges, flat rails, and manual pads. Because the site is integrated into a larger municipal park, the construction utilized specialized shotcrete techniques and durable steel edging to withstand Florida’s high humidity and coastal conditions. The result is a vibrant, inclusive hub that accommodates skateboarders, BMX riders, and scooter users of all ages, serving as a landmark recreational asset for Walton County.
