The Saint Leonard Skatepark, located in the Saint-Leonard borough of Montreal, Quebec, is a masterfully terraced facility designed by New Line Skateparks and constructed by Papillon Skateparks. The design leverages the site’s natural topography and central green space to create two distinct riding zones separated by a significant elevation change.
The upper zone is dedicated to technical flat-ground maneuvers and ledges, which then feeds into the lower zone via street-inspired drops and stair sets. This elevation shift naturally generates the speed required to hit the lower section’s mix of banks and transition features. To maintain harmony with the surrounding park, the design incorporates internal planting areas that mirror the central green space. With its high-quality finishes and intelligent use of space, Saint Leonard stands as a premier example of how site constraints can be transformed into creative architectural opportunities.
