Ruben Pier Memorial skatepark

In July 2009, SPA Skateparks broke ground on Odessa’s state-of-the-art skatepark, located in Sherwood Park. Designed with a nod to the region’s heritage, the park features a distinctive oil pump jack theme—a tribute to West Texas’ iconic oil industry. The park showcases a plaza-style street course, enhanced with custom art elements and suspended props, creating a visually striking and dynamic environment for skaters. A large flow bowl with 5’, 6’, and 7’ depths, along with bike peg-proof metal edging, rounds out this truly one-of-a-kind concrete skatepark. Due to the region’s flat topography and minimal stormwater infrastructure, SPA Skateparks also designed and installed an extensive drainage field to manage runoff. This system efficiently channels and disperses water from the skatepark into the surrounding landscape, ensuring long-term functionality and durability.
