ABOUT SKATEPARK

Rådhusparken Skatepark

Rådhusparken Skatepark is a 1,420 m² concrete skate plaza in the centre of Lillestrøm, Norway, located alongside the Nitelva river. The skatepark was designed and built by Betongpark and opened in 2019, becoming the first major element of the wider redevelopment of Rådhusparken. The park was designed as an open, street-inspired plaza with a small bowl, combining a large variety of modern street obstacles with sculptural concrete elements. The layout includes quarter pipes, A-frames, kicker gaps, banks, granite ledges, manual pads, hips, stairs, handrails, rails, pole jams and a small bowl. The skateable concrete area covers approximately 930 m², while the wider skatepark area includes paths, landscaping and a central green island.

Betongpark worked closely with the local skateboarding community throughout the project, using their specialist skatepark knowledge both in the design process and construction. The park uses contrasting black and grey pigmented concrete, natural Larkvikit granite and coloured concrete details, giving it a distinctive architectural character.
