The Pista de Skate do Marinha, located within Porto Alegre's Parque Marinha do Brasil, is a historic skatepark inaugurated on December 9, 1978. Designed in a distinctive "snake run" style, the track extends approximately 140 meters, featuring smooth, winding curves that culminate in a bowl with walls reaching up to 3.5 meters in height. This design emulates the sensation of surfing on concrete, offering a unique experience for skaters.
Over the decades, the Marinha skatepark has been a central hub for the skateboarding community, hosting numerous competitions and events. In December 2023, the park celebrated its 45th anniversary, highlighting its enduring significance in the local and national skate scene. The event, organized by the Associação dos Skatistas do Parque Marinha (Skama), featured live music, art exhibitions, and tributes to influential figures in the skateboarding community.
Situated in a lush 74-hectare area, the park offers a serene environment for skating enthusiasts and visitors alike. The skatepark is open 24 hours a day, providing continuous access to its facilities.
