ABOUT SKATEPARK

Penzer pumptrack

Deep within Langley City’s premier multi-sport destination, the Penzer Park Pumptrack—located inside the famous Penzer Action Park—is a highly unique playground tailored specifically for continuous rolling momentum. The track was part of a major $1.3-million multi-phase park overhaul completed in 2017 to transform an underutilized sports field into a world-class extreme youth sports facility. Alongside Canada's largest outdoor parkour course and a legendary red-dirt mountain bike skills park, this track serves as a massive community hub.

The pump track's structural history is directly tied to the same expert hands seen across British Columbia’s top concrete projects. The facility's unique paved skateboard-and-bike track loop was constructed by the veteran crew whose core builders went on to establish Transition Construction. To deliver the surrounding multi-million dollar adventure features, the City of Langley brought in specialized playground innovators Marathon Surfaces to install the safety elements, alongside Parkour Visions, who engineered the adjacent timber-framed parkour obstacle courses. The collaborative build combined architectural public landscaping with specialized, skater-tested concrete craftsmanship.

The layout is uniquely engineered as an up-and-down "flow loop," heavily favoring smooth, continuous carving over harsh technical geometry. Built from ultra-dense, cast-in-place concrete, the track is explicitly designed so that gravity and physical pumping do 100% of the work. Rather than traditional skatepark transitions or flat ledges, the footprint is made up of looping, rhythmically spaced rollers, sweeping banked berms, and gentle transition curves. Because it completely lacks sharp coping or sudden drop-ins, the track functions as a highly inclusive wheel park. It provides an ideal playground for skateboards, longboards, scooters, BMX bikes, and roller skates to maintain endless velocity without ever needing to push off the ground.

The Penzer Park Pumptrack is an outdoor, public concrete facility that is entirely free to ride. Its rollable, low-risk architectural design makes it exceptionally beginner-friendly for young children and new riders learning balance, yet it provides a high-intensity cardio workout for advanced skaters attempting to maximize cornering speeds. The park operates without dedicated sports floodlights, making it a daylight-only venue, and is located at Penzer Action Park at 198C Street and 47A Avenue in Langley, British Columbia.

TrucksandFins Tip: Because this is a true pump track, standard hard street wheels can feel a bit slick on the sweeping curves, so sliding on slightly softer cruiser or transition wheels will help you hold your line through the fast berms. If you plan a full day trip, the surrounding Action Park is an absolute wonderland packed with modern washrooms, shelter pavilions, picnic areas, and extended dirt-jump trails for mountain bikes.
