The Penticton Youth Park, located at 135 Riverside Drive in Penticton, British Columbia, is a massive 30,000-square-foot facility and one of the largest concrete skateparks in Western Canada. Originally built in 2007, the project was designed and constructed by New Line Skateparks through an extensive community process. It is often referred to as the "Crown Jewel" of the Okanagan skate scene due to its scale and high-performance variety.
The design is a comprehensive "mega-complex" that caters to every discipline of action sports. The centerpiece is a world-class, multi-level bowl system that includes deep-end vert sections, technical hips, and smooth flow lines that have attracted professional riders from across North America. This transition zone is complemented by a sprawling, architectural street plaza featuring long hubba ledges, diverse stair sets, flat bars, and specialized "up-and-over" features. The park’s layout is engineered for high-capacity use, allowing dozens of riders to navigate different sections simultaneously without intersecting lines.
In late 2024, the park received a significant $400,000 upgrade funded by the BC Growing Communities Fund. This project saw the installation of professional-grade stadium lighting for both the skatepark and the adjacent basketball courts, extending the park's usability until 10:00 PM nightly. These upgrades also included the addition of water bottle filling stations and bike/skateboard repair stands, further cementing its status as a top-tier municipal hub.
Situated within Riverside Park near the shores of Okanagan Lake, the facility features covered spectator seating, integrated social zones, and easy access to local amenities like LocoLanding Adventure Park. Today, the Penticton Youth Park is celebrated as a landmark destination, recognized for its exceptional durability and its role in hosting major regional competitions and events.
