Parque Boavista Skatepark is located within Parque Boavista in Santa Cruz das Flores, a large recreational area developed on the site of the former Boavista sports complex. The skatepark forms part of a wider municipal leisure area that includes sports facilities, a children's playground, picnic areas and views across the Atlantic.
The park has a compact concrete layout built around a back-and-forth run, with a funbox between a quarterpipe and bank. It also includes a manual pad, handrail, flat rail, ledge, stairs and a miniramp, giving it a mixture of street and transition terrain.
Interestingly, the skatepark can be dated quite accurately. Municipal planning information from 2016 states that the redevelopment of Parque Boavista would transform the former Boavista Sport Club's facilities and specifically included the creation of a skatepark. The project was subsequently included in the Açores 2020 funding programme as the “Requalification of the area surrounding the southern end of the aerodrome, Parque do Boavista.”
The municipality's more recent documentation also confirms ongoing maintenance and painting of the Skate Parque Boavista, showing that the facility remains part of the town's public recreational infrastructure.
The exact construction company and inauguration date are not yet confirmed, but the evidence places the construction within the late 2010s, following the 2016 redevelopment plans.
