Nestled along the undulating terrain and winding around a steep natural bedrock outcrop, the 1,000-square-meter Olari Skatepark in Espoo stands as a pioneer in landscape-integrated park design in Finland. Built in 2014 by Concreteproof for the City of Espoo and designed by Janne Saario, the park seamlessly incorporates the natural rock face itself into the rideable concrete structure, creating a truly unique harmony between raw nature and urban flow.
Following the completion of this technically demanding construction, the team identified an opportunity to expand the park's footprint into an adjacent unused pocket. Driven by a true "from skaters, for skaters" ethos, Concreteproof custom-built and donated an extra skateable section pro bono to support the local community, further enhancing the park's connectivity, lines, and total riding space.
