Trucks and Fins is a huge present to the whole skate community - not just for the skating people, but also for shops, builders and schools. Super easy to use and can't believe how complete it is.

The Mount Pearl Skatepark, located at 126 Ruth Avenue within the Team Gushue Sports Complex, is a 12,000-square-foot concrete facility that serves as the premier action sports destination for the Avalon Peninsula. This project was designed and built by New Line Skateparks in 2014, replacing a legacy facility with a state-of-the-art landscape. It was developed to provide a high-performance training ground for Newfoundland and Labrador's rapidly growing skate, BMX, and scooter communities.
The design is a technical "flow-plaza" that utilizes the site’s natural elevation changes to create a tiered, multi-directional riding experience. The facility is anchored by a versatile flow bowl featuring varied depths and rhythmic hips, which provides the speed necessary to navigate the surrounding street terrain. The street plaza is heavily influenced by modern urban architecture, offering a dense array of obstacles including granite-capped hubba ledges, a "bump-to-bar" feature, flat rails, and various stair sets. The layout is engineered for infinite lines, where perimeter transitions function as return walls to keep riders moving through the technical center.
Constructed with high-strength, smooth-troweled concrete, the park was specifically engineered to withstand the harsh North Atlantic climate, characterized by high humidity and frequent freeze-thaw cycles. The facility is fully integrated into the Team Gushue Sports Complex, benefiting from professional-grade lighting for evening sessions and proximity to major athletic amenities. The design also incorporates wide concrete aprons for spectators and integrated seating blocks that offer clear sightlines for families. Today, the Mount Pearl Skatepark is widely considered one of the best facilities in Atlantic Canada, recognized for its exceptional build quality and its role as a vibrant social hub for the St. John's metropolitan area.
