Located at Parque do Rio Cávado along the Marginal do Cávado in Montalegre, this solitary miniramp is one of the surviving pieces of the early generation of skate infrastructure in Portugal's remote northern interior. The riverside park includes a dedicated area for extreme sports, including skateboarding and roller skating, alongside its other recreational facilities.
The miniramp dates from the early 2000s, although the exact construction and opening year has not yet been established. Academic research into the history of Portuguese skateparks specifically identifies a lone miniramp in Montalegre when documenting the limited investment in skate facilities across the Trás-os-Montes region during this period.
Its isolated location and modest size reflect the limited skate infrastructure available in the region at the time. More than two decades later, the miniramp remains an interesting survivor of Portugal's early-2000s skatepark generation.
