ABOUT SKATEPARK

Mitre skatepark

The Mitre Skatepark, located in the iconic Plaza Mitre in Mar del Plata, is widely considered the birthplace of modern skateboarding culture in Argentina. Situated at Hipólito Yrigoyen 2202, it was one of the first professional-grade public parks in the country and remains a legendary "proving ground" for the nation's best riders.

The Mitre Skatepark is a historical landmark in the city known as the "Capital of Argentine Skateboarding." Re-designed and expanded in 2008, this park transformed Mar del Plata into a national epicenter for urban sports. It is a "social engine" where the city’s deep-rooted skate history meets the new generation, hosting everything from local "Jams" to the massive Festival Flama, which celebrates urban trends, art, and music.

As one of the most visible spots in Mar del Plata, it draws a crowd of hundreds of spectators on summer weekends. It’s a place where you earn respect by landing your tricks in front of the local legends.
