Middelharnis skatepark

Completed in 2015, the outdoor skatepark in Middelharnis stands as a foundational benchmark for modern, cast-in-place concrete architecture in the region. Commissioned by the Municipality of Goeree-Overflakkee, the project was executed through a creative partnership between Nine Yards and 2move Skateparks to deliver a fully custom, in-situ concrete landscape within the green surroundings of Vliedpark in Sommelsdijk/Middelharnis.

The facility was engineered with a clear focus on structural longevity and material premiumization. Moving away from traditional pre-fabricated elements, the build utilizes a robust architectural trifecta of raw granite, hand-sculpted in-situ concrete, and heavy-duty galvanized steel. This selection ensures the park easily withstands decades of severe weather and high-impact daily training sessions.

Designed to accommodate a broad spectrum of wheel disciplines and skill levels, the park layout places a heavy emphasis on progressive street and transition flow. The terrain is outfitted with an array of technical obstacles—including custom-molded quarterpipes, precision flat rails, multi-tiered ledges, and raw granite curbs. The result is a highly durable public asset that continues to anchor the local youth and street sports community.
