Located inside Parque Urbano do Rio Porto, next to the municipal swimming pools, the Melgaço Skatepark is a compact 500 m² facility designed for a mixture of street and transition skating. The original layout features a quarterpipe, incline, central pyramid, flatbar, manual pad and ground curb, providing a straightforward selection of obstacles for different levels of riders.
The skatepark was designed and built by A|Park (the former Academia dos Patins) in 2017 and forms part of the wider Parque Urbano do Rio Porto, a riverside recreational area in the centre of Melgaço. The compact layout makes efficient use of the available space and provides several simple lines for skateboarding, BMX and inline skating.
After several years of use, the facility underwent a major renovation in 2024–2025, including new equipment and a new riding surface. The renovated skatepark reopened to the public in March 2025 as part of a wider €105,318 improvement project for the Parque Urbano do Rio Porto.
