ABOUT SKATEPARK

Koigen skatepark

Koigen Skatepark is a large concrete skatepark at Koigen Activity Park on the waterfront of Lake Mjøsa in Hamar, Norway. The wider Koigen area was transformed into a major urban recreation space, with the park completed in 2006. The skate facility is one of the main elements of the development, alongside a beach, volleyball courts, basketball court and other activity areas. The skatepark combines street and transition skating, with features including ledges, sliderails, stairs, a pyramid, hips and a bowl. The park uses both cast-in-place concrete and asphalt, creating a varied layout with multiple lines.

This makes Koigen an interesting example of a skatepark integrated into a larger urban waterfront public space, rather than being treated as a standalone sports facility.
