Keyworth Skatepark is a concrete skatepark on Platt Lane in Keyworth, Nottinghamshire. The original facility was built around 2001, and after more than 20 years of use, the local community campaigned successfully for an extension and modernisation. The upgraded park was completed and officially opened in September 2022.
The redevelopment was carried out by Betongpark, working with Keyworth Parish Council and local skatepark users. The project extended the existing concrete area by approximately 200 m², replacing part of the old tarmac and adding new concrete features. Skate Nottingham supported the local campaign, advised on the contractor and designs, and worked with Betongpark before construction.
The expanded park combines the existing transition sections with a new mini ramp and street section. Features include quarters, flatbanks, a well-loved hip, ledges, a curb, rail, manual-style features and additional flatbanks, creating a mixture of transition and street lines.
The project was funded through contributions from the FCC Communities Foundation, Rushcliffe Borough Council, The National Lottery, Hoxton Developments and Friends of Keyworth Skatepark, alongside local fundraising. The aim was to create a facility suitable for a wide range of ages, abilities and wheeled sports, including skateboards, BMX, scooters, inline skates and WCMX.
