ABOUT SKATEPARK

Kalstad Skatepark

Kalstad Skatepark, also known as Kragerø Skatepark, is an approximately 800 m² cast-in-place concrete skatepark in Kragerø, Norway. The park was built by Betongpark in 2019 and officially opened in April 2020. The park was designed as a flowing combination of street plaza and transition terrain, with different sections that can be skated independently while also connecting into longer lines. The design takes inspiration from Edvard Munch's painting Sølen, which was painted only a short distance from the skatepark. A large circular feature represents the sun from the painting, with coloured steel elements creating the impression of rays across the park.

The project replaced the former Karlstad Skatepark and was developed with strong involvement from the local skate community. Eckholdt AS carried out the main construction, with Betongpark as subcontractor, while the local Kragerø skate community was involved in bringing the project to life.
