ABOUT SKATEPARK

Inverness skatepark

Inverness Skatepark is a 1,200 m² concrete skatepark located within Bught Park in Inverness, Scotland. The current facility opened in December 2014, replacing the deteriorating skatepark that had previously occupied the site. Developed by the Highland Skate Parks Association, the £455,000 project was designed and built by Concreate Skateparks and funded through a combination of support from the Big Lottery Fund, Sportscotland, the Inverness Common Good Fund and charitable trusts. The park features more than 10 distinct sections, including a large bowl with three grindable surfaces leading into a 9-foot pool bowl, a 50-metre jump section incorporating the distinctive Nessie head, and an extensive street section featuring a rideable thistle. Floodlighting allows the facility to be used during the darker Scottish evenings, and the free public skatepark has become a major wheeled-sports destination for Inverness and the wider Highlands. The adjacent Inverness Bike Park, including its pumptrack, was developed separately several years later.
