7710 Mission Road, Prairie Village, Kansas 66208, United States of America.
The Harmon Skatepark (lovingly known to locals as "Jake Park") is a profound legacy project in Prairie Village, Kansas, that honors the memory of Jake Shepard—one of the original youth advocates who helped bring the city's first skatepark to life in 2005. Following decades of heavy use, the original facility was entirely reimagined and rebuilt in 2021 to better serve a new generation of riders. This state-of-the-art redevelopment was designed by New Line Skateparks and built by Superior Bowen in partnership with the City of Prairie Village.
The new design expertly balances high-performance skateable terrain with a multi-use community space. A central feature of the park is a designated stage and event area integrated directly into the skateable footprint, which serves as a functional venue for concerts and performances while remaining fully rideable for skaters between events. The terrain offers a mix of modern street elements and smooth transitions, accented by colored concrete floor patterns, brick details, and the City’s official logo. Beyond the concrete, the facility features integrated landscaping with native vegetation, creating an aesthetically pleasing environment that bridges the gap between a high-energy youth space and a tranquil public park. By expanding on Jake Shepard’s original vision, the Harmon Skatepark remains a vital hub for community connection, healthy activity, and creative expression
