1100 Crossland Road, Granbury, Texas 76048, United States of America
The Granbury Skatepark, located within the City Park at 1100 Crossland Road, is a 10,000-square-foot concrete facility that provides a modern, high-performance environment for the Hood County action sports community. This project was designed by New Line Skateparks and built by SPA Skateparks in 2014. The park was developed to replace a small, outdated modular setup with a permanent "all-wheel" landscape that could serve as a safe and social central gathering point for local youth and families.
The design is a sophisticated "flow-plaza" hybrid that maximizes a rectangular footprint to create long, uninterrupted lines. It features a versatile transition zone with varying depths of quarter pipes and bank-to-bank features that serve as return walls for the street section. The street plaza is technical and densely packed, featuring granite-capped hubba ledges, flat rails, a central "A-frame" pyramid, and a variety of stair sets. The layout is engineered to be "all-wheel friendly," providing the necessary spacing and transition heights to accommodate skateboarders, BMX riders, and scooter enthusiasts of all skill levels simultaneously.
As the specialized construction partner, SPA Skateparks utilized their expertise in high-strength, hand-troweled concrete to ensure the park remains fast and durable against the Texas heat. The build includes heavy-duty steel edging on all grinding surfaces and integrated concrete seating for spectators. The park’s location within the larger City Park complex provides visitors with access to additional amenities such as baseball fields, a soccer complex, and public restrooms. Today, the Granbury Skatepark is celebrated for its smooth finish and intuitive flow, making it a key regional destination in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
