ABOUT SKATEPARK

Dorking skatepark

Dorking Skatepark, also known as Meadowbank Skatepark, is an all-concrete park at Meadowbank Recreation Ground. The park was designed and built by Gravity Skateparks and opened in 2010. Gravity lists the project as one of its skatepark designs.

The park has a distinctive multi-level plaza layout, combining street and transition features. One of its defining elements is the “Dorking Gap”, a gap incorporated into the transition between two levels of the park. The feature was developed with input from local young people during the design process.

The project was funded by Mole Valley District Council and the Big Lottery Fund and formed part of a wider redevelopment of Meadowbank Recreation Ground that also included a BMX area, aerial swing and multi-use sports court.
