ABOUT SKATEPARK

Carmel Valley skatepark

The Carmel Valley Skate Park opened 2008. The park is a 13,500-square-foot facility with a street are and concrete bowl with stone coping. It also includes urban elements such as rails, stairs, banks and ledges. The park has lights allowing for it to stay open after the sun goes down. There are restrooms, a shade structure and sitting area as well. The project design started in January 2007 with input from the Carmel Valley community members and several skate board professionals.  Construction started in March 2008 with the grand opening on Nov. 22, 2008. It was funded via the Carmel Valley Facilities Benefit Assessment.
