Cann Hall Skatepark is a modern concrete skatepark in Cann Hall Park, Leytonstone, East London. The current park was designed and built by Betongpark for Waltham Forest Council, replacing the previous timber-and-metal-framed skatepark that had fallen into disrepair. The new facility was completed in February 2021. The park was co-designed with local riders following an extensive community consultation process. Betongpark aimed to create something different from the more conventional UK skatepark layout, resulting in a spacious and varied park with a distinctive yellow-pigmented concrete finish.
The layout combines transition and street features, including a mini ramp with extension, flow section, tilted pyramid, street section and China bank. The different sections are connected to provide multiple lines through the park, making efficient use of the relatively compact site. The project involved close collaboration between Betongpark, Waltham Forest Council, Riney and Euromix, with Euromix providing specialist concrete expertise and Tarmac's TOPTINT coloured-concrete system used to achieve the park's distinctive finish. The continuous concrete construction was chosen to provide a longer-lasting, low-maintenance facility compared with the old timber ramps.
