Trucks and Fins is a huge present to the whole skate community - not just for the skating people, but also for shops, builders and schools. Super easy to use and can't believe how complete it is.

Situated on the high-visibility corner of Sutherland Drive East and 8 Street East, the Brooks Skatepark stands as a central, high-energy pillar for youth action sports in the region. The location originally welcomed a basic concrete park back in 2007, which served the community faithfully for well over a decade. However, as the local skate, scooter, and BMX populations skyrocketed, the city outgrew the original layout. This sparked an ambitious municipal push to completely revamp the site into a multi-million dollar, state-of-the-art action sports park designed to accommodate modern progression.
The modern redevelopment of the facility represents a textbook example of professional municipal design. Following a competitive bidding process, the City of Brooks officially awarded the specialized contract to New Line Skateparks Inc.Their team launched a comprehensive community design phase featuring "Skateparks 101" workshops and interactive public modeling sessions with local youth. New Line engineered the fresh layout from the ground up, replacing the legacy structures with an ultra-durable, poured-in-place concrete footprint meticulously constructed to gracefully survive the harsh, freezing winters of the southern Alberta plains. But Transition Construction are the actual sculptors who get their hands dirty on-site.
The layout is a highly dynamic, geometric hybrid design that masterfully bridges the gap between classic transition flow and technical street features. Transition riders can session an array of smooth, varying-height quarter pipes and carved banks perfect for pumping up a high line of speed. Seamlessly connected to the transition decks is an expansive street plaza packed with an arsenal of perfectly spaced modern obstacles. The run is loaded with crisp flat bars, down-ledges, specialized manual pads, and stair steps engineered specifically to accommodate riders tracing out long, uninterrupted lines simultaneously.
The Brooks Skatepark is an outdoor, public concrete facility that is entirely free to access. Thanks to the progressive engineering executed by New Line Skateparks, the facility offers a gentle learning curve with plenty of low-impact outer flatground for absolute beginners, while retaining enough height and rail technicality to push advanced locals. The park features a small dedicated parking lot on its east end and sits at the corner of Sutherland Drive East and 8 Street East in Brooks, Alberta.
TrucksandFins Tip: Because the modern concrete poured across the redevelopment footprint is exceptionally fast and glassy-smooth, standard hard street or park wheels are highly recommended to get the best pop and slide. The park is highly convenient for extended all-day sessions; it sits directly across the street from popular local eateries like Macs & Vern's Pizza and is just a half-block walk away from a 7-Eleven for quick hydration and snack reloads.
