ABOUT SKATEPARK

Box Hill skatepark

Box Hill Skatepark is one of Melbourne’s larger regional skateparks, located at the corner of Canterbury Road and Middleborough Road in Box Hill South. The concrete park offers a mix of street and transition skating, with a snake-style flow section, three bowls, a street plaza, ledges, rails, ramps, spines, rollovers and banks. There is also a dedicated beginner area, making the park suitable for a wide range of abilities. Floodlighting, shade shelters and a half-sized basketball court make it a good spot for longer sessions and evening skating.

The redevelopment was designed by Playce and Baseplate, with the existing skatepark largely retained and new street, flow, ditch and plaza sections added. Contemporary sources report that the revamped park officially opened in October 2017, so 2017 is the best year to use for the current version of the park.

After skating, you can explore the shops, cafés and restaurants around Box Hill Central, or take a walk or bike ride along the nearby Gardiners Creek trails.
